Sydney Metro Dilapidation Project

Overview

Sydney Metro West is a large infrastructure project delivering a new, 24-kilometre underground rail link between the Parramatta and Sydney CBDs. The development will significantly improve connectivity and reduce travel times across the city.

Our Approach

Land Surveys was engaged by AFJV to provide comprehensive surveying and dilapidation reporting services to support construction activities.

The scope of works included:

• Conducting detailed existing condition reports and high-definition 360-degree modelling of both residential and commercial properties, helping minimise disputes and provide a transparent, immersive record of pre-construction conditions.
• Utilising our professional 360 camera and drone to capture internal and external scans of properties within a 30-metre radius of the tunnelling alignment. Delivering high-resolution visual documentation quickly and efficiently, ensuring full coverage and improving stakeholder communication.
• Deploying a mobile-based data capture platform to efficiently collect, position, and manage field data – accelerating data collection, improving accuracy, and enabling real-time collaboration between field and office teams.
• Delivering GPS-tagged imagery, annotated condition assessments, tabulated defect lists, and cloud-hosted data for easy access. Providing structured, location-specific insights that enhance decision-making, accessibility, and asset tracking.
• Generating automated PDF reports for efficient and streamlined client delivery, reducing administrative burden, improving report consistency, and ensuring timely delivery of professional documentation.

Outcome
