Land Surveys boasts a management team with diverse backgrounds and considerable depth. We are proven industry leaders in Licensed Surveying, Construction, Mining and Hydrographic Surveys, and our team also has extensive product knowledge in both Leica and Trimble technology.

Peter Rullo
Founder, Director, Chairman
Licensed Surveyor, Peter Rullo, founded Land Surveys in 1997. Through hard work, professionalism and passion, Peter has expanded the business to now include multiple offices across Australia, and one in Papua New Guinea, consisting of more than 300 staff. Prior to establishing Land Surveys, Peter worked for Fugro Surveys and Automated Surveys. His achievements include Bachelor of Surveying Degree, Curtin University 1992; Certificate of Competency – Land Surveyors Licensing Board; Registration of License – Land Surveying Licensing Board WA; Practicing Certificate – Land Surveyors Licensing Board WA; and Member SSSI.

Bruce Baker
Chief Executive Officer
Bruce Baker joined Land Surveys in 2011, as General Manager and Director, playing a pivotal role in developing the company into one of Australia’s leading surveying companies. Bruce actively oversees operations Australia-wide, as well as developing the strategic direction of the business. Bruce brings more than 20 years of worldwide Surveying and Spatial Industry experience to Land Surveys, specialising in positioning technology research and development, hydrographic, and offshore surveying. In previous roles, Bruce has successfully managed several large projects, both on-shore and off-shore.

Ben Westaway
Executive General Manager
Ben Westaway joined Land Surveys as General Manager in January 2018. Ben is a qualified Surveyor holding a Grade 1 Survey Authorisation, a qualified Mining Engineer and a certified Quarry Manager. Having worked in the industry for over 20 years, Ben has held a variety of leadership and responsibilities that include Managing Director of a small survey firm, Business Manager, Quarry Manager, and Survey Superintendent.

Alan Macpherson
General Manager West Coast
Alan Macpherson joined Land Surveys in 2001 and progressed into the crucial role of Pilbara Regional Manager, overseeing Karratha and Port Hedland operations. He works closely with FIFO and Business Development, delivering high satisfaction to clients operating within the region. Alan brings to Land Surveys 15 years of surveying experience over a diverse range of survey projects, expanding across structural, mechanical, piping, earthworks, civil and land surveying throughout Western Australia. He has successfully been involved with high profile projects such as the North West Shelf Venture (NSWV) LNG4 expansion, Ravensthorpe Nickel Project, and the Raine Square redevelopment project in Perth CBD. Alan holds an Engineering Surveyor Professional-Australasia Pacific (ES P-AP) with Spatial Science Institute (SSSI).

Paul Linton
General Manager East Coast
Paul Linton joined Land Surveys in 2014, as the New South Wales Manager. Paul brings to Land Surveys more than 14 years of experience in both cadastral and engineering surveying disciplines. He has previously been involved in a number of high-profile civil construction, building construction, land development, and transport projects throughout Australia and the United Kingdom. Experienced in leading and managing survey teams, Paul combines his solid experience in a supervisory capacity with strong project management and leadership skills. Having completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Surveying and Spatial Information Systems with Honours, Paul is also a Registered Surveyor in New South Wales, Queensland, and the Northern Territory, and is a member of the Institution of Surveyors in New South Wales.

John Zablocki
Group Financial Controller
A Chartered Accountant with a depth of professional service (‘Big 4’) and breadth of industry experience and exposure, across Oceania, Asia and the United Kingdom, John Zablocki joined ISGroup in December 2020. With clarity of purpose and a growth mindset, John heads up the Group’s finance functions. John has a reputation for consistently optimising financial systems, processes and outcomes in fast paced and complex environments. His strong leadership, and clear communication at all levels, enables him to facilitate improvements across the whole business. Day-to-day, John enjoys developing cohesive and expert teams in ways which best support the Group’s operational decision-making and ultimately, its financial results.

Bonnie Becker
People and Culture Manager
Bonnie Becker has been a part of the Land Surveys Human Resources team since 2016. Bonnie holds a master’s in human resource management and a wealth of experience in Human Resources. Bonnie leads our HR, HSEQ, Marketing, HR and Payroll departments nationwide, with a focus on supporting strategic change and ensuring the best interests of our staff are always a priority.

James Sanderson
National Business Development Manager
James Sanderson joined Land Surveys in 2014, as the Manager of the new Victoria Branch. James brings more than 12 years of surveying experience in the disciplines of construction, land development, infrastructure, and exploration in Australia and overseas. He spent six years based in the United Kingdom as a sole trader, before moving to Melbourne in 2008, as a Project Surveyor. With a proactive approach to problem solving, James quickly moved into a number of management roles delivering surveying services to major high-rise, and large construction projects in Melbourne. Originally from Western Australia, James completed a Bachelor of Surveying degree in 2001, and is a member of the SSSI.

Tarra Rullo
Strategic Marketing and Communications Advisor
Tarra Rullo joined Land Surveys in Marketing and Business Development in February 2013.
Tarra has extensive skills in corporate positioning, branding and reputation management together with expertise in service design. She also has facilitation, consulting, and organisational development skills to actively engage with staff and support executive management. Tarra has a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Marketing/Marketing Management, from Murdoch University.

Wynand Mulder
Geospatial Manager
Wynand Mulder joined Land Surveys in November 2019. As the Geospatial Manager, Wynand assists the Geospatial team, managing terrestrial and mobile laser scanning operations, unmanned airborne operations, point cloud processing, feature extraction, 3D modelling and reality capture and processing. Based in the Melbourne office, Wynand is a highly skilled and versatile professional with a wealth of experience in the spatial information industry, combining his solid experience in a supervisory capacity with strong project management and leadership skills. Wynand is a qualified surveyor and a specialist in mobile and terrestrial laser scanning, terrestrial and airborne image mapping, trajectory, point cloud and 3D image processing, reality capture and modelling.

Drew Coulthard
National Monitoring Manager
Drew Coulthard joined Land Surveys in 2014. Since graduating as a Surveyor in 2003 he has gained experience working across many different sectors including civil, mining, rail and infrastructure projects. Drew has extensive experience managing Instrumentation and Monitoring projects, with key management roles on major projects in both Australia and the UK. Originally from Queensland, Drew has Bachelor of Surveying from QUT and a Master of Business Administration majoring in Project Management from USQ. Drew is also a member of the Australian Tunnelling Society.

Jason Beare
Victoria State Manager
Jason Beare joined Land Surveys in 2008, having 13 years’ experience specializing in delivering large scale infrastructure projects across WA, NT and Victoria. Jason now oversees the Land Surveys Victorian branch with a focus on delivering the complete spatial solutions that exceeds our clients expectations. Having been privileged to develop his career within Land Surveys Jason recognises that our people and culture are critical to our success.

Phil Jonath
State Manager
Phil Jonath joined Land Surveys in January 2015 to lead a new business strategy as the Infrastructure and Government Coordinator. Since then, he has undertaken several key roles at Land Surveys, including the West Coast Pre-Contracts Manager. Phil has been undertaking the role of State Manager – Perth, since August 2019. Phil is a Licensed Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in the Urban Development, Resource and Construction Sectors, specialising in the management of complex survey functions for many private and public sector clients, maintaining strong professional working relationships with many stakeholders in these sectors throughout Australasia and the Pacific Region. Phil is also a Grade 2 Mine Surveyor and Authorised Licensed Surveyor with the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. Phil has also undertaken a Diploma of Business – Frontline Management and PRINCE2 Foundation in Project Management.

Jason Armitage
NT & PNG Manager
Jason Armitage joined Land Surveys in 2010, initially in the role of Operations Manager for regional projects, before evolving into our Business Development Manager. His primary focus was on strengthening the company’s client base to allow for national and international growth. Jason brings more than 25 years of experience in the surveying and spatial industry, providing expertise in major infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on the resources sectors throughout WA, QLD and NT. In mid-2016, Jason shifted his focus include growing our business in Papua New Guinea as the Country Manager. Jason’s role currently applys both his business development and operational experiences to grow the business and deliver a quality service to our clients across NT and PNG.

Shane Watson
Mining & Regional Manager
Shane Watson is a qualified Mine and Engineering Surveyor from Curtin University’s Western Australian School of Mines. He holds a WA Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyor’s Certificate and has more than 20 years of experience in underground and open cut mining operations throughout Australia and overseas. Shane joined Land Surveys as Mining Services Manager in mid-2018. Prior, Shane held roles such as Senior Surveyor, Chief Surveyor and Survey Manager throughout Western Australia – some of which projects included Goldfields St Ives – Kambalda, Newmont – Boddington and Cardno Spectrum Surveys – Kalgoorlie/Perth. Since 2011, Shane has been a member of the DMIRS Mines Survey Board for Western Australia, and he is the Vice-President for the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS).

Josh Gardner
Commercial Manager
Josh joined Land Surveys in 2019 to lead our largest international project to date. Josh holds a very wide range of expertise, deploying a unique skillset to deliver results while maintaining relationships and a logical mindset on the common goal. Josh now managers our Commercial and IT teams, ensuring that Land Surveys is achieving and utilising all opportunities.
