Licensed Surveyor, Peter Rullo, founded Land Surveys in 1997. Through hard work, professionalism and passion, Peter has expanded the business to now include multiple offices across Australia, and one in Papua New Guinea, consisting of more than 200 staff. Prior to establishing Land Surveys, Peter worked for Fugro Surveys and Automated Surveys. His achievements include Bachelor of Surveying Degree, Curtin University 1992; Certificate of Competency – Land Surveyors Licensing Board; Registration of License – Land Surveying Licensing Board WA; Practicing Certificate – Land Surveyors Licensing Board WA; and Member SSSI.

Bruce Baker

Bruce Baker



Bruce Baker joined Land Surveys in 2011, as General Manager and Director, playing a pivotal role in developing the company into one of Australia’s leading surveying companies. Bruce actively oversees operations Australia-wide, as well as developing the strategic direction of the business. Bruce brings more than 20 years of worldwide Surveying and Spatial Industry experience to Land Surveys, specialising in positioning technology research and development, hydrographic, and offshore surveying. In previous roles, Bruce has successfully managed several large projects, both on-shore and off-shore. He is an active committee member for the Australasian Hydrographic Society (AHS), and holds memberships with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), Society for Underwater Technology (SUT), and Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI).

Paul Williamson



Paul Williamson joined Land Surveys in 2017, as Chief Financial Officer. Paul is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary with more than 20 years of finance team leadership experience in Australia and the United Kingdom. Previous to joining Land Surveys, Paul was Regional Director and a Consulting CFO for CFO Centre WA. Prior to that, he held positions as the most senior finance executive at P&N Bank, and the ASX listed finance company, Thinksmart Ltd. After qualifying with KPMG, Paul provided finance expertise to a variety of sectors including land development, not-for-profits, manufacturing, professional services, and financial services including a period as Chief Accountant for BankWest.

Ben Westaway



Ben Westaway joined Land Surveys as General Manager in January 2018. Ben is a qualified Surveyor, a qualified Mining Engineer and also holds a Grade 1 Survey Authorisation. Ben comes from a senior management role with Hazell Bros where he was the Business Manager for their Tasmania Quarrying & Crushing Operations, NATA Accredited CMT Laboratory & Landfill Operations throughout Tasmania. Ben has also previously been the Managing Director of TEAMS, a survey company that he founded, Survey Superintendent for Atlas Iron, and has held Senior Surveyor & Surveyor roles since commencing in the industry in 1995.

Paul Linton



Paul Linton joined Land Surveys in 2014, as the New South Wales Manager. Paul brings to Land Surveys more than 14 years of experience in both cadastral and engineering surveying disciplines. He has previously been involved in a number of high profile civil construction, building construction, land development, and transport projects throughout Australia and the United Kingdom. Experienced in leading and managing survey teams, Paul combines his solid experience in a supervisory capacity with strong project management and leadership skills. Having completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Surveying and Spatial Information Systems with Honours, Paul is also a Registered Surveyor in New South Wales, Queensland, and the Northern Territory, and is a member of the Institution of Surveyors in New South Wales.

Alan Macpherson joined Land Surveys in 2001, and progressed into the crucial role of Pilbara Regional Manager, overseeing Karratha and Port Hedland operations. He works closely with FIFO and Business Development, delivering high satisfaction to clients operating within the region. Alan brings to Land Surveys 15 years of surveying experience over a diverse range of survey projects, expanding across structural, mechanical, piping, earthworks, civil and land surveying throughout Western Australia. He has successfully been involved with high profile projects such as the North West Shelf Venture (NSWV) LNG4 expansion, Ravensthorpe Nickel Project, and the Raine Square redevelopment project in Perth CBD. Alan holds an Engineering Surveyor Professional-Australasia Pacific (ES P-AP) with Spatial Science Institute (SSSI).

James Sanderson



James Sanderson joined Land Surveys in 2014, as the manager of the new Victoria Branch. James brings more than 12 years of surveying experience in the disciplines of construction, land development, infrastructure, and exploration in Australia and overseas. He spent six years based in the United Kingdom as a sole trader, before moving to Melbourne in 2008, as a Project Surveyor. With a pro-active approach to problem solving, James quickly moved into a number of management roles delivering surveying services to major high-rise, and large construction projects in Melbourne. Originally from Western Australia, James completed a Bachelor of Surveying degree in 2001, and is a member of the SSSI.

Nicole Jamieson joined Land Surveys as the National HR Manager in November, 2017.  Nicole has more than 20 years of experience in the Human Resources field and more than ten years in HR Management. She has extensive knowledge of Industrial Relations, Awards, Employee Relations, Performance Management and all other areas of HR. Prior to Land Surveys, Nicole worked across many different industries in both Australia and the UK including telecommunications, IT consulting, publishing, law and finance. She is a Certified Practitioner with the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), and has a Bachelor of Business Administration (HR & Industrial Relations) from RMIT.

Shane Watson



Shane Watson is a qualified Mine and Engineering Surveyor from Curtin University’s Western Australian School of Mines. He holds a WA Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyor’s Certificate and has more than 20 years of experience in underground and open cut mining operations throughout Australia and overseas. Shane joined Land Surveys as Mining Services Manager in mid-2018. Prior, Shane held roles such as Senior Surveyor, Chief Surveyor and Survey Manager throughout Western Australia – some of which projects included Goldfields St Ives – Kambalda, Newmont – Boddington and Cardno Spectrum Surveys – Kalgoorlie/Perth. Since 2011, Shane has been a member of the DMIRS Mines Survey Board for Western Australia, and he is the Vice-President for the Australian Institute of Mine Surveyors (AIMS).

Samantha Rees joined Land Surveys in 2011, as Management Accountant, overseeing the accounting and payroll department. Samantha brings more than 20 years of experience to Land Surveys, with extensive knowledge and experience in the auditing, accounting and consultation of private and public entities. Prior to Land Surveys, Samantha worked across multiple industries, in both Australia and South Africa, including B E Rees and Company, Tag Solvents Products (Pty) Ltd, and The Compass Group. She is certified with a Bachelor of Commerce specialising in Accounting and Auditing from the University of South Africa, and is presently completing her CPA studies in Australia.

Tarra Shaylor joined Land Surveys in Marketing and Business Development in February, 2013. Tarra has extensive skills in Marketing Strategy and Management, Business Development, Event Management, Personal Branding, Digital Media, and Executive Support. Tarra has worked across many different industries including publishing, hospitality, motorsport, fashion and beauty. Tarra holds a Bachelor of Communications which focused on Marketing/Marketing Management, from Murdoch University.

Jason Armitage joined Land Surveys in 2010, initially in the role of Operations Manager for regional projects, before evolving into our Business Development Manager. His primary focus was on strengthening the company’s client base to allow for national and international growth. Jason brings more than 25 years of experience in the surveying and spatial industry, providing expertise in major infrastructure projects, with a particular emphasis on the resources sectors throughout WA, QLD and NT. In mid-2016, Jason shifted his focus to growing our business in Papua New Guinea as the Country Manager. This role allows for Jason to apply both his business development and operational experiences to grow the business and deliver a quality service to our clients across PNG.

Andrew Clarke joined Land Surveys in April, 2017. Andrew brings a wealth of experience to the company with more than ten years in managing HSEQ matters across a number of industry sectors including construction, manufacturing, mining, transport and logistics, hospitality and information management. Andrew holds a Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety and a Diploma in Quality Auditing, as well as other accolades giving Land Surveys strength in managing risk within the business. Andrew’s ability to engage with employees at all levels has resulted in a strong work health and safety culture at Land Surveys. Andrew is currently leading the team further updating the management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 & AS/NZS 4801:2001 to become a recognised ‘Authorised Engineering Company’(AEO), able to deliver excellence to NSW Government projects.
