SSSI WA SPATIAL EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2017

Congratulations to our Graduate Surveyor, Lewis Walsh, on receiving the Undergraduate Student Award at the SSSI WA Spatial Excellence Awards on Friday 13 October, 2017.

Lewis received the award for the work he did on his final year project with Curtin University which established a permanent Terrestrial Laser Scanning (TLS) calibration facility and associated software to provide a local and accessible test range for both Curtin University and the Surveying and Spatial Industry. The project conducted a review of current research and methodologies and also provided in-depth background into the mathematics and rigorous adjustment theory to perform TLS calibrations. Both were performed at a level beyond typical undergraduate work.

Lewis will now progress as a finalist in the Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards, which will be held in Adelaide next year. Best of luck Lewis!
