RED DOG RELAY 2016

Land Surveys8 June 20162 min read

On the WA Day long weekend at the start of this month, some of our employees from our Karratha office participated again in the Red Dog Relay.

This is a two-day event that included multiple disciplines such as a run, paddle, 4WD, mountain bike, cross country walk, swim and road bike. The course runs from Dampier to Karratha out to Millstream Chichester National Park and return, with participants camping overnight at the Millstream National Park.

The event is a great way to get out and see the Pilbara for what it is, rather than just a place to work. It also presents a great networking opportunity to rub shoulders with current and potential clients.

Well done to the Land Surveys team who achieved outstanding results – placing 3rd out of 25 teams competing!

This event was more than just a challenging weekend for our team, inspired to participate again in memory of former work colleague and friend Chris Patrick, who tragically lost his life two years ago.

The team wore their Chris Patrick T-shirts for the event, and Chris’ partner Christiana returned to Karratha for the relay as part of their support crew.  For the Land Surveys team, Red Dog was about honouring their mate and promoting workplace safely.

Well done to all involved!
