Celebrating Excellence: ISGroup Shines at the West Australian Institute of Surveyors Awards
At ISGroup, we believe that genuine success comes from combining technical innovation with a strong sense of teamwork and community. This year’s West Australian Institute of Surveyors Awards gave us a chance to celebrate just that. Recognising both individual leadership and outstanding project teamwork within our group.
Lewis Walsh: Young Professional Surveyor of the Year
We’re thrilled to congratulate Lewis Walsh, named the 2025 Young Professional Surveyor of the Year (WA).
Lewis’s story is a testament to what happens when curiosity meets commitment. Over the years, Lewis has led some of Australia’s most complex infrastructure and monitoring projects, from developing world-first monitoring systems under active airport runways to deploying advanced analytics dashboards for major rail and road programs. His technical work has set new standards, both nationally and internationally.
What really sets Lewis apart is his leadership and approach to people.
Lewis is known for his generosity in sharing knowledge, his encouragement of new ideas, and his talent for building cross-functional teams. As both a mentor and a collaborator, he’s shaping the next generation of surveying professionals, not just through his technical skills, but by supporting and empowering others to reach their best.
PTA Reality Capture & Monitoring Project: Extra Dimension & Innovation Award
Recognition also goes to the ISGroup team behind the PTA Reality Capture and Monitoring Project, winners of the Extra Dimension & Innovation Award.
This project showcases the power of collaboration and cutting-edge technology in delivering real-world results. By integrating high-resolution 3D scanning, photogrammetry, and an IoT-based sensor network, the team delivered a unified, proactive monitoring system for Perth’s underground rail tunnels. The result? Safer, more efficient tunnel maintenance, reduced manual inspection time, and data-driven decisions that will benefit public infrastructure for years to come.
Beyond the technical achievement, the real impact is on how we work together. The project required close teamwork across surveyors, engineers, data specialists, and client partners—each person bringing their own expertise, creativity, and dedication to a complex challenge.
A Culture of Innovation and Inclusion
Awards like these are a moment to pause and reflect on what we’re building together at ISGroup. It’s not just about delivering innovative projects, but about how we support each other, celebrating diverse talents, sharing knowledge, and always striving for better solutions.
Thank you to Lewis, the PTA project team, and everyone who supports our work behind the scenes. These achievements are proof that when we combine technical excellence with people-first values, we can set new benchmarks for our industry, and make a genuine difference in the communities we serve.
Well done to all. Let’s keep pushing boundaries, supporting each other, and shaping the future of geospatial solutions together.
