Peter Rullo founded Land Surveys in 1997, and has committed his career to build a leading Australian survey business, expanding proactively into new markets, introducing technology and innovation, and employing and training new staff. Peter’s leadership of the business and in the industry is well recognised, as is his entrepreneurship and practical business focus. Peter has also worked hard to support indigenous engagement in the industry.

Peter commenced studying a Bachelor of Surveying at Curtin University in 1989, and it is where he met Bruce Baker, who is now Land Surveys Chief Operating Officer.

After University, Peter went on and worked for a couple of surveying companies for a few years, and throughout this time he forged other key relationships and long term friendships, including some that now form the backbone of Land Surveys.

It was on one particular project in South Australia, the Roxby Downs Olympic Dam project, that his passion of this profession grew. It was a large scale construction project, and it was the first time he had been part of something of that scale.

Peter discovered an appreciation and great satisfaction of seeing something built from the ground up, and as a surveyor knowing he had played an integral part of it. This inspired him to start something of his own.

In 1997, he started Land Surveys by undertaking sub-contracting work. He gained the trust of local builders and concrete companies, and by 1999, he was experiencing the rewards of some great business relationships that still stand today.

Forging successful relationships has been a key strength of Land Surveys’ success.

Our success has come from our point of difference, and our point of difference is simply our people. We have the best quality people with depth of knowledge and experience in the industry, and with 20 years of experience on Australia’s largest projects.

Our team consists of more than 200 people nationally, and Papua New Guinea, giving us the capability to scale our resources to fit the job. It also gives us a resources advantage over our competitors, having made a considerable investment in equipment and technology that we are able to deploy across the business, making us a one-stop-shop for all our clients’ surveying needs.
